  • My wife and I recently tried this place for her birthday, and it was fantastic. Charleston doesn’t have a lot of diverse food options outside of Southern fare, so we were excited to give it a try. We made a reservation for nine, and they set up a beautiful personalized tent for our party, complete with fans to keep us cool. Most of us had never tried African food, but we loved every dish. One of our friends had actually been to Africa and eaten authentic African food before, and he confirmed that this was as authentic as it gets. The service was outstanding, and the owner was incredibly kind and attentive, spending time talking with us. I highly recommend trying a variety of dishes and sharing them around the table—everything was delicious, especially the wings. The menu rotates, so we’re excited to come back and see what’s new.

  • My wife and I rarely have WOW moments when trying food, but this place did just that. I had my head in my hands multiple times throughout the course of dinner just because of the sheer depth of the different flavors. The last time I felt like that was when I first tried Malaysian (Laksa, Beef Rendang) and Thai food. Just please go. Such an underrated cuisine that deserves so much more attention. Definitely go on a Friday or Saturday so you can try the Thieboudieun, which was our favorite out of everything we ordered.

  • This place was the best food we had on our trip to Charleston! The atmosphere was perfect, small, quaint and staff was super friendly! We had some homemade juices, the snapper and yassa and it was all cooked and flavored to perfection. I will definitely be visiting this spot again, next time we're in Charleston!

  • Flavor should be the first and last thing you say after dining here. I brought my wife here after we saw this restaurant on Charleston Infatuation. Didn't disappoint is a gross understatement. We tried several dishes and everything is out if this world. Please make a reservation and enjoy some truly remarkable food.

  • The place is very small, only five tables or so, and the decor is simple but authentic. The food is sort of an African-Low country fusion, full of flavor. we had a unique shrimp quinoa salad and she-crab rice.it’s BYOB but they offer interesting juices. The service was warm and informative.

  • Highly recommend! The hot sauce that came with the skewers was amazing, so flavorful. We got several small and large plates and split them amongst four of us, and everything was delicious. We sat on the outdoor patio which had a beautiful set up and great vibes. An overhead fan kept the area cool in the shaded tent. We had a chance to speak with the owners who were lovely. I would definitely come here for authentic African cuisine. We brought a couple bottles of wine with us, as they do not serve alcohol.

  • Visiting the area and like finding authentic places to explore. Intended to dine-in but it’s a small venue and reservations filled up by 9:00am. However, there is an option for online ordering with options for time slots. Some of the dishes and drinks were already sold out. Ordered Yassa Lamb, it was incredibly good, tender and flavorful. Also got the Mafe Groundnut Beef Stew, in the peanut sauce with spinach. I was expecting chicken because that term was used in the description and the picture resembled it too but the meal was great and the spices she uses takes everything up to another level. Fresh made papaya juice was great. Would’ve love the option to add a desert. Restaurant is in a residential neighborhood that already relies on street parking. I would suggest using Lyft or Uber for drop off since parking can be difficult and may not want to walk from far away. * suggest adding plastic wrap to take out containers to prevent staining from leakage.
